Basic information I'll need from you
Below is a basic list of some things I'll need from you to begin working on your website. The sooner I can "wrangle up" this information the sooner your site can be completed. Don't make the deputy have to come hunt you down for some photograph!
Y'all hear now?
- Exact verbiage for each section of your website such as a biography or welcome text. Be sure to proof-read your text! Please provide text in unformatted copy-and-paste fashion to speed up development time.
- Logos, original pictures/product photos or existing graphics. Some allowable formats are jpg, png, tiff and gif. (You MUST have ownership of any images or graphics supplied.)
- A clear and precise vision of your goal for the website.
- A list of each page of your website and what type of content will be included.
- A diagram or explanation of the navigation process for locating each page.
- Up to date contact information including email address, phone number and physical address if needed.
- Any external files such as pdf or text files that you will offer users to download from your website.
Extras
If your site will require special dynamic content or things other than standard text and image presentation, you may need to supply the following items:
Flash content
- Explain each scene such as images in rotation, etc.
- How the graphics will be supplied. Either created by me or submitted.
Contact forms
- All fields to fill out noting user required fields.
- What email address the contact form should be mailed to.
- Include email verbiage for reply if there will be a reply email sent to the user upon submitting the form.
- What text should be presented on the confirmation page the user gets directed to after submitting the form.
- If you would like "client-side" validation effects.(Instant notification of errors, etc.)
Slideshows and galleries
I will need to know if your slideshow will have any or all of the following options.
- Automatically advance photos within the gallery.
- Allow user to advance photos manually.
- Have a fading transition or other effect between photos.
- Allow each individual photo to be linked to an external web page.
- All of the above.
This is not an all-inclusive list. I will supply you with a complete list of what will be needed based on the design of your website.
